Polo's Story...
Polo was brought into the adoption center on Dec. 24th, THAT IS MORE THAN 5 MONTHS!! No one that has spent time with Polo can understand why he hasn't been scooped up already. This poor boy spent Christmas alone in a kennel. Polo is a wonderful dog and it's always shocking to see animals like him end up here, homeless. Polo gets along well with most other dogs and is very curious around cats. He is a fun loving active boy! He came in with his best friend Marco (who has since been adopted leaving poor Polo all by himself) Polo is a very happy go lucky dog, but he knows when to settle down. He is great around kids and has a great temperament in general! When adopted, Polo will be microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed and many extras. To meet Polo or any of other amazing animals looking for new loving homes please come to our adoption centre at 6220 - 50 ave during adoption/viewing hours (Tuesdays 2:00 pm – 4:30 pm, Wednesdays 2:00 pm – 6:30 pm, Thursdays 2:00 pm – 6:30 pm, Fridays 2:00 pm – 4:30 pm and Saturdays & Sundays 1:00 pm – 4:30 pm.). SAVE A LIFE - ADOPT A HOMELESS ANIMAL! ~~~Because no dog should live in a cage and because Polo has been here for such a long time there is a discount on his adoption fee.~~~

Act quickly to adopt Polo. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Polo, a Cold Lake Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Cold Lake, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Cold Lake.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cold Lake already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cold Lake breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cold Lake paves the way for another one to be saved.
