Basil's Story...
Hi my name is Basil! I was rescued from the bushes outside one cold night! I didn't really like it out in the cold and rain, but I was also a little scared for a while when I got to foster moms house. I warmed up to foster mom the quickest of all my siblings and have turned into a very sweet boy! I like to sit with foster mom while she watches TV or reads. I have a very chiseled face and a long, sleek body, so foster mom thinks I might have some Oriental shorthair genes in me somewhere! I would be great in a household with kids other kitties to play with. Don't you want to take me home?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Basil, a Houston Oriental cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Oriental for sale in Houston, or seeking a Oriental cat from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Oriental breeders who help with Oriental rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
