Penelope's Info...

Penelope's Story...
Penelope was recently adopted from us and just returned. She is now available for adoption. Penelope is about 9 months old. Penelope had apparently been pottying on her new owner's couch. A solution to dealing with this very bad habit is to keep her very confined until she is fully trained. A baby gate works wonders! Keeping her confined to maybe a kitchen for some time, and then slowly giving her more freedom as she earns it would be a workable solution. Penelope is very lovable and full of energy. She just can't wait to make friends with everyone around her! If you are interested in this sweet girl and willing to spend some time training her, Penelope would be a wonderful addition to your family!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Penelope, a Troy Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog for sale in Troy, or seeking a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog dog from a breeder in Troy.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Troy already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Troy breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog breeders who help with Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Troy paves the way for another one to be saved.
