My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ferrari was pulled by Songdog Rescue out of Apple Valley Animal Services in December 2013. He is a beautiful dog that is about 2 years old and will probably be between 85-100 lbs once he's out of the 'shelter stress' environment. Here's what his foster mom has to say about him!

"Ferrari is a wonderful boy. Very, very affectionate. A “leaner” who would love nothing more than to sit on your lap, despite his enormous size. He’s about 85 lbs and around 32 inches tall. Loves being petted and brushed. Will be happy to lie by your feet all day, but not a needy dog.

He is very good on a leash, curious about other dogs on walks but does not alert. Housebroken, listens well, knows sit but not lie down. Seems he even knows “drop”. Dog friendly (tolerating my VERY jerky boy), but could easily be a one person dog as he loves “his person”.

I can’t tell prey drive yet - but we walked passed a cat and he didn't notice it. He is a tiny tiny bit sensitive to fast movements and noises. but nothing extraordinary. and it could just be because he is still unsure of everything around him.

He has no food aggression issues, he didn't growl or fuss when I fed both the boys, and he let me pick up his bowl while he was eating. would probably counter surf if given the opportunity. I took him to the vet yesterday, he got a total A++ for health. Vet estimated his age much less than shelter, less than 2 years old.

He is an absolute love bug, joy to be around. As I said in my note to Jony and on Facebook - whomever adopts him will be very very lucky!!!"

Ferrari is currently being fostered in Los Angeles, CA.
