Lou's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.

Lou's Story...
Lou is a beautiful Malamute cross who was pulled from San Bernadino in December of 2013. He is seven years old, and healthy. His foster mom said he had a very mellow temperament and is happy to ignore the other dogs in the household as well as her children. However, one of her existing foster dogs did not get along with Lou, so he was transferred to our Training Partner who has continued to evaluate him and work with him.

Lou walks nicely on leash, and is housebroken/neutered and up to date on shots. He is fine with children in a supervised setting and as long as a proper introduction is made, does well with respectful dogs. A bouncy, overly exuberant puppy probably wouldn't be a good match for this older gentleman but an adult dog that is calm and just wants company would be perfect.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lou, a Ashland Alaskan Malamute dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Alaskan Malamute for sale in Ashland, or seeking a Alaskan Malamute dog from a breeder in Ashland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ashland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ashland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Alaskan Malamute breeders who help with Alaskan Malamute rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ashland paves the way for another one to be saved.
