Abby's Story...
Hi, I'm Abby - one of the cutest pups around! I am originally from a home where my owner was hoarding dogs, so I didn't really get a lot of human attention when I was there. Because of this, I'm pretty unsure of people still and I take a while to warm up to you. Once I learn that you're safe, I'll be your most devoted companion. I'm currently in foster care with several other dogs and cats and do well with them. If you have a quiet home and the time needed to show me that the world doesn't have to be so scary, please call the shelter at (607)257-1822 ext 221 or e-mail to set up a time to meet me. I'm ready to meet my new forever person!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Abby, a Ithaca Lhasa Apso dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Lhasa Apso for sale in Ithaca, or seeking a Lhasa Apso dog from a breeder in Ithaca.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ithaca already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ithaca breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Lhasa Apso breeders who help with Lhasa Apso rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ithaca paves the way for another one to be saved.
