My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hambone is a 3 yr. old purebred black and tan coonhound that had his front left leg removed due to nerve damage. The vet that did the surgery purchased him from the breeder to get him out of a bad situation. He was given to a rescue because the vet's other black and tan bullied Hammy.

Unfortunately, Hammy is now in his 3rd foster home and is receiving the same treatment from the other foster dogs. He needs to be in a home with NO other dogs - or small dogs. He loves to play with small dogs, but for some reason large dogs bully him. He will not fight back. Hammy is the sweetest, most lovable boy and gets in no trouble at all. He loves to sit like a prairie dog (see pic 2). He loves to hug you by standing on his hind legs and putting his front leg around you.

He is neutered, UTD on shots, HW negative and on preventative. He uses a doggie door and is housebroken.

Hammy is in foster care in east Tennessee and will be transported to New England upon adoption. Alpha Dog Transport charges $125 for their services. They will also hand off his vet records when claimed at one of their stops in CT, VT or ME. An adoption fee will also apply.
