Gilbert's Info...

I am already neutered, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Gilbert's Story...
Gilbert has arrived! He was retired from a veterinary program where he helped train our newest technicians, veterinarians, and other animal lovers. Now he is looking for the retirement he deserves as a loved and spoiled housepet! :)

Gilbert here, otherwise known as Gilly, Gibby or Gillyweed (for all you Harry Potter fans), and I'm coming to you LIVE to ask for a happy home! I'm a comedic and charismatic little guy who is full to the brim with personality! I have this soft, soulful expression that really melts hearts, and my sweet nature wins me lots of friends. In fact, I tend to get anxious when I'm alone or when I experience a scary change in my environment. I am very grateful when people take the time to just sit with me and reassure me that it's ok to relax - these moments are my favorites because I think that's when people see the true loving spirit that I have within me. I hope that I can find a family that can spend lots of time with me and has another smaller, confident dog (and a fenced in yard) that could help me learn the ropes of living in a home. (It is OK if you have cats, too - so long as you at least have another young dog for me to play with!)

I know that I can learn fast when I feel included and loved - I am very bright and pretty bold at heart! I am great at figuring out treat-dispensing toys and I'm a whiz at clicker training - you should see how beautifully I can walk on leash when I am getting rewarded and praised frequently! I am energetic and love to zoom around the play yard. I am cratetrained (although I do not love my crate), and I am still working on housetraining, but doing very well! I just know that there are so many happy experiences waiting for me out in the world, and I curl up in my bed every night dreaming of the family that will show them all to me.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gilbert, a Yardley Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Yardley, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Yardley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Yardley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Yardley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Yardley paves the way for another one to be saved.
