My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

TYSON – 2 year old male. UPDATE FROM TYSON”S FOSTER MOM (July 12) “Since we have welcomed him into our home he has been nothing short of one of the best dogs ever. Tyson quickly accepted the fact that all dogs do their business outside. Once that is done, he knows he gets lots of praise for being such a good boy, then he sits and accepts a treat which he takes very nicely. Tyson came to us knowing how to sit, stay, shake and "speak"; the staff at the kennel and our RR volunteers evidently worked very diligently with him...thank you!

A little background on this beautiful, smart boy is sad, but one that is told all too often. Tyson was found as a stray, taken in by a family who kept him outside 24/7, no matter the weather. They finally relinquished him to a shelter because he doesn't like cats. His fortune changed when Recycled Rotts was contacted and he was accepted into the rescue. The thing is, Tyson went from being a stray to a family who 'kept' him on their property outside without much interaction then off to Recycled Rotts, where he unfortunately was kenneled far longer than we prefer. He is gentle, loving, smart, great with the family dogs, loves, loves, loves playing (especially with balls). How did he keep his sanity through all this? I keep asking myself this question - he has decent manners, does not jump, is not overly "barky" and listens well. He absolutely soaks in attention, but is not pushy about it. He will patiently wait his turn while pets are evenly distributed to all 4 dogs here.

Tyson has already been to his first day at Doggie Day Kamp and his report card reflects his personality: Tyson was a Paw-fect Pet and had a splashtastic time swimming with the Kamp Kounselor. They said he did great meeting new people and the dogs in the pack he was placed in. He has settled into our feeding ritual without a hitch, sits very nicely and eats when told it's OK. He loves exploring, going for walks and just hanging out. It makes me happy that we have him (temporarily); I love watching him in the yard with our boys, picking up cues from them. The best is seeing him settle into a nice comfy dog bed, he looks up at me with his beautifully expressive eyes and gives me that "Thank you" look just before sighing and drifting off to a peaceful slumber. What more could a dog ask for?”

There is not anything more we can say about this wonderful boy. He needs a home and has been overlooked far too long. We know his furever family is out there and Tyson is waiting patiently for you to call.
