My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 10 years
Gender: Male
Color: Liver & White
Weight: 45 lbs
Variety: Field
Say hello to Sherman! This boy is a retired hunting Springer who is now looking for a family to love him through his golden years.

Sweet, snuggly, and loyal are the three words that best describe Sherman. He may ten years old, but this boy has lots of life left to live and tons of love left to give.

Sherman is neutered, up to date on his vaccinations, and healthy. Though Sherman has the early stages of cataracts, the vet says that Sherman can still see, just not as sharply as he used to. Having an eye issue sure doesn't slow this guy down! He loves playing fetch and will keep on fetching until his foster mom finally wears out. She says that Sherman acts more like a teenager than a senior citizen!

Sherman loves being outdoors with his humans and loves even more to run through the tall prairie grass looking for birds and rabbits. He lives with other dogs, cats, and kids.

Sherman knows all of his commands and follows them religiously. One day Sherman's foster mom told him to Sit and Stay outside the chicken house. Ducks and chickens continually passed by Sherman, but he sat there calmly and waited patiently until his foster mom finally finished in the barn. He didn't budge until his mom told him to Come. What a good boy!

Pleasing his humans is what Sherman loves to do. Now he needs someone who will return his love. Are you the person who will snuggle with Sherman and receive all of his kisses of gratitude? If so, please contact his case managers at the e-mail address below. Sherman qualifies for our Senior for a Senior opportunity so ask about it.

Please note that an approved adoption application is the first step in a more thorough interview process that is designed to match each dog to exactly the right family, and that the final decision rests with the dog's case manager.

Please read the Adoption FAQ and get an Adoption Application approved before inquiring about Sherman.
