Ginger's Story...
Ginger is a year old Basenji blend. With her coloring Gdinger is an excellent name for this high energy, bouncy bundle of fun & joy. She is a bit hesitant and submissive rolling over on her back and presenting belly when ever she feels unsure. In this position she enjoys a good belly rub. Ginger knows sit and makes good eye contact. She does appear house trained and does ok in kennel. She's a bit over the top on lead but with time, since she's smart as a whip, should develop some better manners. Ginger adores playing with toys. She is very sweet and gentle and will shower you with puppy kisses if you let her. Ginger should probably go to a calmer home with older children who want to run and play but less likely to startle her. Ginger has asked for a new home for Christmas and says she'll look terrific in a big green bow.

If you want to apply for Ginger click here. You can then email the application to the Meridian Humane Society.Applications are now being accepted, and a visitation with the dog is encouraged. All applications will be considered and the adoption coordinator will call the person chosen to adopt the dog after the available date.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ginger, a Meridian Basenji dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basenji for sale in Meridian, or seeking a Basenji dog from a breeder in Meridian.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Meridian already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Meridian breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basenji breeders who help with Basenji rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Meridian paves the way for another one to be saved.
