Tank's Story...
Hi, my name's Tank! I'm a 1 1/2 year old yorkie mix. I was surrendered to the shelter because my owner recently died. None of her family had room to take my brothers and I in, so now we're all here at the shelter in search of new homes. I'm a friendly little guy, but do take some time to warm up to new people. I would do fine in a home with other dogs or kids. I'm also up to date on shots, neutered, and have a microchip. Now all I really need is a home and someone to love me! Are you looking for a new furry best friend? The shelter is open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1-5, Tuesday and Thursday from 1-8, and Saturday from 10-2. Come visit me!

You can see some of our adoptable pets almost every Saturday at the Petsmart in Greensburg from noon to 6pm and some Sundays too. All adoption fees include spay/neuter and up-to-date vaccinations.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tank, a Youngwood Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier for sale in Youngwood, or seeking a Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier dog from a breeder in Youngwood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Youngwood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Youngwood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier breeders who help with Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Youngwood paves the way for another one to be saved.
