My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We would like you to meet Miss Maggie, who is a very dignified little lady. She is 7 yrs. old and weighs 11-12 lbs. She gets along well with other dogs and people but seems to be especially fond of men. This is what we were told of Maggie’s background. She was purchased from a breeder. Her father was a Papillion and her mother was a Shi Tzu. She and her brother were purchased together when they were puppies. We are not exactly sure what kind of home Maggie was raised in but we’re told the family wanted to keep the brother and find a home for Maggie. When she was picked up, her nails were so long they were turned sideways and she had clumps of fur because she had not been groomed in so long, nor had she been vaccinated since she was a puppy. This we know about Maggie since she has been in her foster home. She is very quiet, reserved, well behaved and seems content to be by herself, but she also enjoys being a lap dog and loves to be petted and brushed. She loves squeaky toys and chewies and is always more than ready to go for a ride, usually standing at the car waiting. Maggie is also house trained and crate trained. We suspect that she led a very sheltered life because when she was taken for her first walk, she was fearful of other people, dogs and bicycles coming toward her or from behind and froze in place. Now she walks along without hesitation. Maggie is spayed, fully vaccinated, heartworm negative and on preventative. There are no children in her foster home so we’re not sure how she is with them and think she may do best in a home with no small children. She would be totally happy if she could ride in the car with her pet parents everywhere they go. Does Maggie sound like the girl for you?
