IDGSR WELCOMES CONTESSA INTO THE SAFETY OF THE RESCUE!!!!
Contessa was another confisicated dog due to hoarding, we have had so many dogs this year that were confisicated by the authorities due to neglect and abuse that it makes us ill to think of the suffering these dogs go thru.
Contessa does great with small dogs, as she was in a household with 23 small breed dogs, No cats.
Contessa is a very good watch dog, she is also very protective,
she bonds very quickly to the female in the household,
she is reserved with men, but quickly warmed up to my husband upon first meeting with cheese treats.
Contessa will need an experienced adopter with German Shepherds.
Contessa is a beautiful very Large Female GS, she is stunning.
She is very sweet but needs more socialization and takes time to take in all the new things that she encounters, she will need a patient adopter while she works thru these things, she will benefit from a more calmer household and one that will be just as devoted to her as she will be to them.
If you are a female who has concerns for your safety and welfare from intruders, burglars, Home Invasion, You certainly would not have to worry with Contessa's presence. However that kind of personality and character needs an experienced adopter, She will also benefit from additional obedience work.

Each dog's adoption donation varies depending on the age of the dog.
$300 for any dog 1 year and younger (BABY)
$250 for any dog 1-6 years (ADULT)
$150 for dogs over 7 (SENIOR)
All our adoptable dogs are up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing & monthly preventative and have been spayed or neutered.
Everyone must submit an application before an appointment is made to meet the dogs. Dogs are introduced to prospective adopters BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.
All dogs are fostered in TN unless stated otherwise.
