Oliver Twist's Story...
Please Sir or Madame. Can I have some more? More love, more attention, more belly rubs and more laughs. I have been orphaned and find myself swimming in this sea of despair. Don’t get me wrong, everyone here at the shelter is real kind and caring toward me. But, it isn’t like having your own home, with your own family. I can be a little nervous about meeting new people, but once I warm up to you let the snuggles begin. Children 6+ would be good for my new life because they understand how to be slow and easy with sensitive ones like me. I get along really well with my doggie brethren, and wouldn’t mind sharing my new home! I am learning crate skills while I am here and finding it easier than I had anticipated! I have so much to learn and experience. I hope you can see my potential, and find it in your heart to give a little more. 4 years old-60lbs. My adoption fee is $180 and includes; neuter, microchip, 1 month pet health insurance, free vet exam, reduced cost training class, leash/collar, toy & treat packet, food sample.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Oliver Twist, a Portland German Shepherd Dog/Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Australian Shepherd for sale in Portland, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Australian Shepherd breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
