My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ADOPTION PENDING!

Meet Howard! He is so adorable!! Look at the ears flying and the smile on his face as he runs forward to get hugs, love and pets from a human. He will rub up against your leg to be close to you and ask you to give him some love back. He will put his head down and nuzzle in for love too. What a sweetheart! He will be a great soft buddy for snuggling. Howard likes to play with squeaky toys. He will run after a ball if you throw it for him.He likes to play with other dogs and will engage in play with them. He loves to run around in the yard and utilizes every inch. He is an active dog who would like to take long walks or jogs with you. He needs to release some of the energy he has at his young age. The shelter workers say he is a happy go lucky little guy. Would you like to get unconditional love? Then Howard could be the one for you. We were told he hasn't shed in his kennel so we are about 90% sure he is hypoallergenic.

Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:

Thorough veterinary examination

All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kkennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming

Spay/Neuter

All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.

If any dog shows any signs of disease or ailment, DDR vets the dog until he or she has a clean bill of health to the best of our knowledge. This includes anything from being treated for Heartworm, Broken Leg, Cherry Eye, Torn ACL, Upper Respiratory etc.)

NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 4 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
