My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ferdinand is a handsome black and white cat with medium length fur. You can tell that he knows he’s good looking by the way he chills on the furniture and struts through his pen. He definitely has a laid back, easygoing attitude towards life. Ferdinand takes things as they come and moves on quickly. He likes affection from humans but never asks for it. If you are willing to pet him he is happy to let you, but he will never bug you for it. Ferdinand would probably make a great companion for pretty much any family. We can envision him sitting on the couch with his humans watching a game on TV. Or relaxing on a chair while you surf the net. He is about 9 years old and was transferred to Katie’s Place from another shelter in September of 2013. Ferdinand must have been taken care of by his previous owners because all in all he is in good health and at a recent dental appointment he only needed a minor cleaning. Ferdinand is diabetic and requires insulin injections twice a day. He is very easy to medicate and never puts up a fuss. As with everything else he takes the injections in stride. And if you’ve never done an insulin injection before, no worries! It’s easy and we will show you how to do it. Because of the diabetes we would be more than happy to adopt Ferdinand out as a permanent foster. This would mean that you could chillax with a very cool cat and we would cover the costs of anything related to the diabetes. Ferdinand seems indifferent to the other cats in his room and would probably feel the same way about any cats that you may have. He just takes life one day at a time. So if you are in need of some de-stressing forget yoga and meditation…take Ferdinand home and he will teach you the art of relaxation.
