Alyssa Kay's Story...
Alyssa Kay was one of Sammi's puppies (see Sammi's writeup). She was set to die inside her mom in a shelter, but thankfully we were able to reach her just in time. We do not now who the father was, nor do we know the father's breed. Sammi is purebred beagle. We believe these pups will be just slightly larger than their mother. They are all as cute as can be and are just learning to play, wag their tails, and bark! They will each come with a spay certificate, vaccines, microchip and will have been dewormed twice. They cannot be adopted until after Janurary 18, but we are accepting applications NOW. Fenced yard is REQUIRED! If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please complete the online adoption application (http://www.cascaderescue.org/adoptapp_west.html). Telephone calls on these puppies will not be returned unless there is an adoption application on file. Adoption fee: $350.00

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Alyssa Kay, a Portland Beagle puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Portland, or seeking a Beagle puppy from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
