Here's what the humans have to say about me:
*****Update from Trixie's Foster Mom 1/28/14*****
Miss Trixie is doing very well. She is one of the most well-mannered aussies we've had the pleasure to know.
Her commands include: sit, drop, wait, ok (her signal to enter the house after I do) and shake (she's ambidextrous with this one). Very affectionate and cuddly. She'll bark if she hears a strange noise, but after being here for awhile that has dropped off a lot. Great guard dog! Sleeps on the floor, in the bed, next to the bed or wherever she ends up when she's tired. After suppertime she settles down and is ready to lay down/take a nap. Being on furniture is not her thing unless we invite her up. She really enjoys sitting between us on the couch or joining one of us for an afternoon nap. Good appetite, but not food-oriented. Very people-oriented and seeks attention.
When we've been gone the entire work day, she tends to be a little squirrelier by Thursday (but I would be too). Likes to start playing fetch, but our cue words don't match what she learned. Loves soft toys that make noises, soft frisbees and fetching toys that make noises. Her hearing is excellent! We've started teaching her hide & seek in the house with one of us hiding and whistling. She ADORES Dave and latched onto him almost immediately. I'm her beauty stylist and she loves to get her fur brushed and belly rubbed. She is a typical aussie with high marks in cuddling, attention to her people and guarding her people. Haven't had many people over so not sure how her behavior is in that category.
One of the most touching routines she's taught us is that when I give Dave a good-bye hug in the morning, she pushes her face into me and insists that she get a hug too! EVERY morning from the start!
*****12/23/13***** Trixie is a female about 9 years old. She loves to be outside when her people are. In the summer she loves to play with the ball or just chase around in the yard. She likes to roll in the grass and chew on her bone or a snack. In the winter she loves to eat, roll and play in the snow. She loves ice cubes. She isn't a huge fan of water. When it is raining out she would prefer to stay inside with you. She has had basic obedience and went through a beginner class so she knows basic commands. She pays close attention to your body language and will follow you everywhere if you let her. She is very affectionate and loves to be rubbed and brushed. She has done okay around cats but prefers to be an only dog in an adult home.
