Facts about Emma

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Gray Or Blue (Mostly)
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Female
  • ID#: 6458032
  • Hair: Short

Emma with the dreamy amber eyes has a very sweet, gentle nature. She's about 3½ years old as of June, 2016. According to Wikipedia, cats of Emma's coloration are believed to bring good luck in the folklore of many cultures. In the United States, these cats are sometimes referred to as 'money cats.' We cannot make promises of additional money -- only of a sweet, loving cat. Emma is shy in new situations -- she'll need some time to adjust to a new home. Although she's in a foster home with other cats, she prefers not to interact with them. We believe she's afraid of them, for the most part, although she has played with the kittens on occasion, and seemed fine with them. We feel she'd do best in a home where she's the only four-legged family member. In return, she'd give all her attention to you!

About Shelter Animals Rescue Group (SARG)

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a small, all-volunteer, 501(c)3 nonprofit rescue group, with emphasis on mixed-breed dogs and cats. We adopt primarily from our local animal shelter, although we occasionally take in hardship cases. We also assist individuals in our area by advertising on our website animals they need to rehome, if the animals have been spayed/neutered. We gratefully accept donations, and we need volunteers for many events. More than anything, we need foster homes.

Come Meet Our Pets...

As a volunteer group, we do not have a facility. Our animals reside in foster homes and boarding kennels. We show them regularly at the PetSmart store on Parkside Drive in Knoxville the second Friday of each month, 4 to 8 p.m., as well as by appointment.

Our Adoption Process...

Cat adoption fee is $125, and $145 for dogs. We attempt to match the animal's characteristics with the family and their lifestyle. We require an application form, which becomes part of the adoption contract, a personal or phone interview, veterinarian reference if applicable, home visit, and an additional agreement about how the animal will be treated. Cats must be indoors only, not declawed. Dogs must be fenced or leashed when outdoors and treated as part of the family--indoors as much as possible, and always at night. Adopter agrees to provide regular veterinary care, and to return the animal to us if they ever give it up. We reserve the right to check on the animal's welfare from time to time, with appropriate notice.
