My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Do you remember playing with checkers as a child? Well, now you can play with Checkers as an adult, too! This tiny little guy just arrived and we all fell in love with him immediately. Checkers was just picked up locally by the animal control officer as he was dodging cars in a neighborhood. Being immediately rescued from certain death, he rewarded us with lots of kisses. Checkers is an energetic pint sized pup and would need a home that wanted a dog with lots of energy and maybe some other doggy friends to play with but not a necessity. He is just a gregarious little guy and never meets a stranger. Not a yapper at all, but he does have lots of "get up and go!"

Checkers is approx 12 - 14 months old and weighs only approx 12 - 15 lbs. He should be at his adult size and weight. He is a Jack Russell terrier mix and has the cutest scruffy little face. Checkers is working on his vaccines and has been neutered. He is testing heart worm negative and we have him on all of his monthly preventatives. He is currently in foster care and is house trained. He seems to love everyone around him and is not a discriminating kinda guy. Loves other dogs, cats, and kids and is just a playful, friendly little guy. He is almost too cute for words.

Checkers will be ready for transport to his new home by mid January.
