My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hudson was saved from Clayton County Animal Control in Georgia in late August of 2013 by Chani Greenfield.

From Chani: "Since we raised enough at the time to save two, a friend helped me choose the second along with Maynard. There were so many. He was to be put down the following Tuesday, and he was saved on a Saturday morning.

"When we picked him up in Georgia, he greeted us with a wagging tail and kisses. Hudson was just at 24 lbs. when we got him to Wisconsin. He needed to be treated for worms, and fleas. He has been free of both for months now! He is about 40 lbs. now, though we need to have him weighed again.

"Hudson listens very well, and we believe him to be a Chesapeake bay retriever MIX. He has curly short hair on his bum and around his neck. His hair is more oily than normal, and his feet are webbed. When compared to a photo, his is similar. This is just a hunch and a blood test will need to be done to verify if this is true, if it is important to his forever family.

"He is a smart dog and learns fast. Hudson loves balls, and has yet to master 'bring it here', so fetch is in his future, but not always his present. He seems shy, or reserved when it comes to cuddling. Though, when he gets a taste of it, he just wants more love! Daycare at Lucky Dog daycare is a weekly event for him. He does well with most other dogs, though he has been having a problem with female dogs. Just certain ones, but if you are interested in adding him to your family, and you have a female dog, they would need to meet first. He does well with the daycare owners' female rottie, but she's much larger than him. Hudson gets along with our small Italian greyhound basenji mix, and our 7-month-old kitten. She doesn't seem to mind him either, as long as he keeps his distance. Hudson respects that.

"He likes walks, and recently discovered snow! He loves to romp around in it! He will need a strong leader, and lots of love! Hudson would do fantastic in obedience training and other dog classes with his forever home there to learn with him! Hudson is utd on all vaccines, neutered, and microchipped. We want to find Hudson a home that will allow him to visit his foster buddy, Maynard, often."
