My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tess is one beautiful and serene girl, inside and out. Her peaceful spirit and good manners make her a favorite here in her foster home. It's hard to imagine how a dog so loving and well-behaved ended up in a shelter, but that is where we found her.

Tess has so many great attributes from being great in the car (she rode shotgun on her way from the shelter to her foster home), to already being crate-trained (she'll choose any crate and go in on her own - even a crate too small for her and then it's very entertaining to watch her enter and exit). Tess is even great on a leash.

Tess is on the high end of being a medium dog, probably around 55 pounds. She gets along great with other large dogs, and though we have not had her romp with the small dogs at our foster home, she has gotten along with them in passing.

If you are interested in meeting and adopting Tess you'll need to submit pictures and an application as detailed in the next paragraph.

All potential adopters are expected to complete an application and provide pictures of their yard, patio, and/or balcony making sure we can see the fence line and/or railing. The application can be completed and submitted from our website - throwmeabonedogrescue.org - and is found under "Resources." Applications will be reviewed for approval before setting an appointment to come meet and possibly adopt the dog of interest. In addition, those who live in a rental property are expected to provide proof that they are allowed to have a dog where they live.

Each of our rescued dogs has been de-wormed, de-flea'd (with topical treatement if old enough, and by medicated bath if too young), is up to date on shots, is spayed/neutered, microchipped, and has been fully examined by a veterinarian. In addition, each adopted dog comes with a starter baggie of the food it has been eating, a few treats for training purposes, a rawhide chew, a lead and collar, and a folder containing pertinent records.
