My story

Hi, I'm Mixer! My rescue story started a couple of months ago when I was left at a shelter. That was one of the longest and most scary experiences of my life. But then a nice lady from ESRA came and took me home, and it has been a wild, wonderful adventure ever since!

I traveled all the way to northern Minnesota, where I now live with my foster family. I have a new mom and dad and a Springer sister here. They love my easygoing nature because indoors I'm calm and cuddly. Since basements make me nervous, I prefer first-floor living. I'm always near my family, whether it's on their laps, on their feet, on the doggie pillow, or on the couch. Sometimes I'll snack on a bone or play with my squeaky toys, but indoors it's mostly all about relaxation and snuggling.

Outdoors I'm like a puppy, hopping and diving through the snow. I love my fenced-in yard, and I love walks! I wear an easy-pull harness, which feels pretty weird. However, my foster mom says I'm doing great with it. I've met adults, children, and other dogs on the trails, and I get along with everybody.

My foster family has a cat, and I get very bouncy around him! That starts a wild game of chase, but my foster mom says I'm super easy to redirect. A quick "Mixer!" or "Eh-eh!" makes me stop in my tracks. Apparently, cats don't like the chase game as much as I do.

I have to say that I'm really sweet and polite. I share my toys and bones, and I eat my meals and treats very well. I know several commands, such as Sit, Come, Wait, and Stay. I'm even learning how to pose for pictures! I'm potty trained, and I sleep through the night on a big pillow in my foster parents' bedroom. I like to go for car rides, and I did a great job at the groomer's salon and the vet's office, even though I was a little nervous in both places. My foster parents say I'm a quick learner, easy to redirect, a good listener, and of course, their little snuggle bug!

My New Year's resolution is to find a Forever Home that loves hugs and kisses, snuggling, and silliness. I can't wait to meet you!

Love,
Mixer
