Facts about TJ

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Brown Tabby
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Male
  • Hair: Short
TJ was thrown outside by his former owners when they didn’t want him anymore :( A kind neighbor took him in after TJ was attacked by another animal. Now TJ dreams every night of a new home.

TJ is the COOL CAT of the shelter. He has a strong, curious personality. TJ loves to meet new people, especially when they sit down; TJ will hop right in your lap and fall asleep. He also loves to have his belly rubbed! When TJ is let out of his pen, he loves to chase toys and check up on the other cats. Once it’s time for him to go back to his pen, all you have to do is open the door and call his name. This smart boy walks right back in and plops on a bed! TJ is just under 3 years old. To meet him, please call 516-378-4340 or email

Please come meet him any day between the hours of 11am and 6pm at our Freeport location, 2 Rider Place, Freeport NY 11520

For an immediate response, please fill out our application from and email it to as well.

About Bobbi and the Strays

About Our Rescue Group...

Bobbi and the Strays is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt animal welfare organization, and a no-kill agency.

We rescue stray dogs and cats from harmful situations ranging from abuse and neglect to imminent euthanasia. All animals are examined and treated by a veterinarian and updated with vaccinations, spayed/neutered, and will undergo healthcare or rehabilitation as necessary. We then find permanent, loving homes for these animals who may never have known kindness. We also provide educational programs to schools and the community, educating children and adults on responsible pet ownership. We also have Spay-Neuter/Release programs, organizing monthly spay/neuter services around the community with the ASPCA van.

We have dedicated volunteers who help rescue, foster, and care for the animals, as well as helping out at adoption days.

Donations are always needed to continue our work, and we rely on the support of those who share our vision of a world where animals are treated humanely, given loving homes, and where organizations such as ours are a thing of the past. We believe in our dream.

Our Adoption Process...

We require all potential adopters to complete an adoption form. We will make arrangements to meet with you, inspect the home where the animal will live, and, once approved, you'll be able to take home your new family member. Fees will be discussed with potential adopters.

We also require that adopters keep us updated on the well being of their pets and, if for any reason they are no longer able to keep the animal, they MUST call us to return the animal to us. We will pick up if necessary.
