Slade
Hi everyone!! My name is Slade. I am about 3 years old and a Black Lab mix. As you can see I would rather be right next to you to be petted then have my picture taken.
All about me...
I want someone to make it all about me. I use to have a mom and 5 other dog friends and we all lived in the house and it was great. Then mom got a boy friend and he did not like us so we had to spend the next 1 1/2 years outside. And you know how much attention we got ? None. Well after living outside by ourselves we all where taken to the shelter, all of my friends found new homes and I did not. I was going to be put to sleep because I am 'just another' black lab mix out there that nobody wanted. But ResQ 4 Paws came just in time and took me home. I have gained all my weight back and look great. Now I just need that forever home that will love me forever!
My training & manners info.
I love to go for car rides, I walk pretty well on a leash and my house and crate manners are all most there. Remember I was living outside for 1 1/2 years and there are no rules out there. So I need a family that wants to teach me all the good things in life and make me their best friend forever. I would love to go to doggie school too.
Are you the right family for me?
I need a family that is going to be able to be good and have patience with me. I am afraid to go outside sometimes, I am afraid that is where I am going to end up living again. I would do good with older kids. I get along with dogs my size. I do not like dogs that are a lot bigger then me.

How to adopt me!
Our animals are in private foster homes, only approved applicants may schedule appointments to meet the animals. A complete application should be submitted and a volunteer will contact you upon approval. We have a minimum age requirement of 21, more information regarding adoption policies can be seen at our website www.resq4paws.org. The adoption fee of $200 - $300 includes age-appropriate vaccinations, spay or neuter, micro- chipping, heartworm test, 30 days of free ShelterCare (TM) pet insurance. To fill out an application, please visit www.resq4paws.org You can e-mail us but please realize we are volunteers and trying to keep up, applications take precedence and they are approved based on the best home for the dog NOT on a first come first serve basis. E-mailing also gives us more time to spend with the animals verses answering the phone and returning phone calls.
