Greta's Story...
Greta is a beautiful German Shepherd mix who is looking for her forever home. She's a friendly, sweet, and loving girl, and thrives on affection and attention from her people. She would love a home where she will receive large doses of love and affection, and where she will be a valued member of the family. Only about 50 pounds, she's a good match for the German Shepherd lover who wants a compact dog and the beauty, intelligence and trainability for which this breed is famous. Greta is housetrained and has wonderful indoor manners.
The first step in applying for one of our pets is to fill out an application. This in no way obligates you to adopt. It helps our foster parents learn more about you, which helps them determine if the pet would be a good fit for your situation. Please log on to our website at www.bbcra.org then click on the button on the left-hand side that says Apply to Adopt.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Greta, a Pittsboro/Durham German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Pittsboro/Durham, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Pittsboro/Durham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Pittsboro/Durham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Pittsboro/Durham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Pittsboro/Durham paves the way for another one to be saved.
