Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Thor, a gorgeous tri-colored Border Collie/Beagle mix. He's about 2 years old, 55 pounds and has a thick, soft coat of black & white with brown eyebrows just made for hugging. Thor was found as a stray in southern Indiana before being transported up to a Roverrescue.org foster home.
Thor has learned how to climb stairs and has started playing with toys. As most border collies, Thor loves attention from humans and has strong guarding instincts. At night, after everyone is in bed, he lays in the bedroom doorway to make certain his people aren't disturbed. He is the "Fun Police" when it comes to the normal chaos of puppies playing together and seems to be calmer with dogs smaller than he is and those that let him be alpha. Thor would do best in a dog savvy home with children older than 6.
Thor is house trained and has discovered that he likes to chew on deer & water buffalo antlers. He is calm on a leash without pulling and sits quietly in the car watching all the activity around him. He will need a fenced yard because of his beagle heritage (Animal Control knows his name). Despite his border collie genes, Thor's energy level is medium to low, although he does have the border collie’s velcro characteristics. He wants to be with his family always.
Thor is neutered and up-to-date on appropriate vaccinations. If your family would like to meet him, please contact Margrit at 630.820.1584. His adoption fee is $200 and will include a microchip certificate redeemable at Rover Rescue affiliated vets.
