My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Maltese Rescue CA acquired this puppy when a shelter asked for our assistance to obtain a medical evaluation of a darling, little 2 month old Malti-poo boy. This puppy entered the shelter with a severe injury to his right rear leg. When we picked him up, he was immediately taken to a veterinary specialist for an exam and x-rays. His x-rays showed multiple fractures of all his bones in his right rear leg. An amputation was the only recommendation from two different veterinarians.

You might be asking, why we named this puppy “Little Boy Blue?” When our coordinator picked him up from the shelter, she noticed his fur was colored a light blue which we learned was a cultural healing practice for dogs with severe injuries so this special puppy was named “Little Boy Blue.”

Little Boy Blue has made a remarkable recovery. He is now residing in a foster home and enjoys short, supervised time outside and playing with other small dogs. He has even learned to go up stairs; so check out the photo of Blue learning to go up a couple of stairs to get to the couch. What Blue really enjoys is being cuddled in a person’s arms.

If you would like to meet this sweetheart, he will be at the Unleashed by Petco Store in Scripps Ranch on Sunday, Jan 5th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
