My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lizzy is a BEAUTY. She is calm and confidant. At 86 lbs. she is a bit small for a Great Pyrenees but has a HUGE heart (and bark, for her size!) She will sometimes bark while outdoors, but she doesn’t get carried away. She’ll bark indoors if someone comes to the door, or the other dogs bark.

She is a couch potato who loves to snuggle and be petted. Actually, she must be petted. Occasionally she will come by and demand it by putting her head under your hand or by pawing you. She adores getting strokes and scratches on the head, neck and chest, and being brushed. She is so soft, you won’t want to quit petting her either! She could easily be a Therapy Dog as she is so quiet and calm.

She likes the outdoors, too. She loves the snow, and likes a good roll-around in it while munching on mouthfuls of the stuff! Lizzy likes a good long walk and is a great walking buddy. If you walk fast, she walks fast. If you walk slowly, she strolls along with you. No pulling, no stopping short to sniff things and no chasing other dogs, cats or cars. She gets along well with other dogs and cats (mostly she just ignores cats). Lizzy would really like to sleep next to you in bed but if you say no, that’s OK, too.

She takes treats with a delicacy that a mouse would admire. She does have a fear of gun-shots, fireworks and thunderstorms. She should always be leashed outdoors when she is not fenced in. She is a sweet girl with awesome manners, but she IS a Great Pyrenees and she does want to see what’s down the road and she will GO, if given the chance. A yard with a secure 6 foot privacy is a MUST. Lizzy is a Best Friend looking for a constant companion to spend her life with. Are you that person?

This dog’s adoption fee is $225. Adopters must live within 150 miles or 3 hours drive of the Quad City area.
