Meet Holly! She is a gorgeous young pup. She looks out of the kennel with puppy dog eyes to get some human attention. She is a bit shy but still wants human contact. She is food motivated so she should be easy to train. She shares a kennel with another dog now and they love to play tug of war. She loves playing with other dogs and is curious of cats. Her eyes tell me she wants to trust so badly but something happened at one time in her life to make her fear humans so her trust will probably have to be regained once she leaves here and goes to a strange new place. Holly is learning to come out of her shell and trust humans. It takes a gentle touch and tone with her. She is not overly social right now but will come to you and loves to take her treats. If you would like a sweet pup and have time and patience to help her trust humans again, Holly would love to show you unconditional love. She would be good with a family, single or senior person. Please consider giving Holly a new family who can show her love and attention she deserves.

Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:
Thorough veterinary examination
All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kkennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming
Spay/Neuter
All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.
If any dog shows any signs of disease or ailment, DDR vets the dog until he or she has a clean bill of health to the best of our knowledge. This includes anything from being treated for Heartworm, Broken Leg, Cherry Eye, Torn ACL, Upper Respiratory etc.)
NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 4 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
