My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is a courtesy post for A Leg Up Rescue. If you are interested in adopting this dog please email them at aleguprescue.org.

Mandy is a little different than your average dog. She doesn’t know any different but she is what we call a Biped (a dog who was born without her front legs). But the home that Mandy is looking for is one that doesn’t see her as any different. Yes she is a special needs dog but in her mind she is ordinary. She plays with toys, gets into trouble, loves to be held and petted and even sleeps in the bed. About the only thing that is different about her is that she can’t go for walks like a normal dog or potty like a normal dog. So she needs parents who are as special as she is who recognize she needs that extra care but still see her as a regular dog.

Mandy enjoys the company of other dogs and cats and will play with them. She is almost house broken to use potty pads as she can’t go in and out of the house on her own. Mandy is shy when first meeting people but will bond very quickly to her person as she needs to rely on them for a lot. She loves to give kisses and she is super energetic and playful. Don’t think for one minute that because this dog has two legs that she will be quiet and calm. She will require a lot of supervision and attention. Before you rush to apply for this sweet little dog please do some research. There is a lot of information that you can google on Bipeds.

A perfect home for Mandy would consist of a one story, or a home that the stairs can easily be blocked off for safety. No children under the age of 10 years. No first time dog owners. No swimming pools. A home where someone is home part-time so Mandy is not left alone all day.
