Ok, he's not really a Chinese Crested mix, but certainly one of the more unusual-looking doxies we've ever had! Mr. Mini is a purebred 8 year old standard smooth doxie surrendered with his "brother" Moe (who has been adopted) because they weren't adapting well to the new baby in the home. He is mostly hairless, due to a genetic condition called Color Dilution Alopecia, a result of breeding for "rare" dilute colors like blue and fawn in doxies or other breeds. There is no treatment and it doesn't require any extra care other than making sure his skin is protected from sunburn or cold weather, and possibly occasional medicated baths to prevent skin infections. He is a cheerful spunky guy who doesn't act like a senior and loves attention. He is 20lbs full grown and has been neutered and updated on shots. We do not have a shelter- all our pets are in foster homes and can be seen by appointment only during the week, or at our weekly pet adoptions every Sunday at the Animal Clinic of Morris Plains from 12:30 to 3PM at 3009 Route 10 East next to 5 Star Car Wash (formerly Boulder Car Wash) in Morris Plains (Denville on GPS).
