My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 11 months
Gender: Male
Color: Tricolor
Weight: 33 lbs
Variety: Field
Hi! My name is Chili, and my ESRA story begins on a cold winter night. I was left out in subzero weather until some wonderful people let me into their house and then contacted ESRA for help. I have found warmth, friendship, and love with my foster family. I am now looking for the Forever Family that I can share the rest of my life with.

Although I am somewhat small in stature, my foster family can tell you that I'm big on loving! I so love attention, and lap sitting is the best. My coloring is unique and special, which makes me a one-of-a-kind boy, and a handsome one, if I do say so myself!

I like all the furry friends that I have been in contact with. I even had the pleasure of meeting some large four-legged creatures called horses. When I first saw them, I barked because I was a little nervous, but now when I see them it's not a big deal. My foster family says that I handle new things really well and take it all in stride.

I'm used to entertaining myself, and I like to keep moving so that I won't miss anything. I love to play with my Springer foster buddies. We run and play so much that when it's bedtime, I just go into my crate and crash. I don't fuss at night. I will let you know when it is time to go out to do my business. I take treats and food very gently from your hand. However, if you let me, I will counter surf (humans have such good-smelling stuff up there!). I get in trouble when I do that, though, so I am learning to stay down.

I love to learn and see new things, so if you want a new buddy to have adventures with, I am your guy. Contact my case managers to arrange for a playdate. Until then, stay warm and dream of Springer kisses. I have lots of those to share!

Love,
Chili

From Chili's foster mom: Our Chili is a little gem. He loves to follow you and stay with you; he is a very willing little partner. This young, healthy dog just needs some guidance and schooling to become a totally polished diamond. I think that he spent too much time alone in his former situation. Therefore, he would no doubt benefit from living with a family who has someone at home with him most of the time or who at least has another dog to be a companion for Chili. This wonderful guy deserves a family as special as he is. If you think yours might be that family, please contact us right away at the e-mail address below.

Please note that an approved adoption application is the first step in a more thorough interview process that is designed to match each dog to exactly the right family, and that the final decision rests with the dog's case manager.

Please read the Adoption FAQ and get an Adoption Application approved before inquiring about Chili.
