My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gracie, an 18 month old female Australian Cattle Dog mix originally had a home that took her in as a puppy and had her on a chain 24/7 till she was about a year old. She came to us as unadoptable on the day she was scheduled to be put to sleep. A little uncertain of what was going to happen when we got her home, we soon realized that all the reasons she was returned had to be things that the former adopters did or didn’t do right. The foster’s own 4 dogs took her in like one of theirs and she did not show signs of aggression towards them at all. Gracie is a bit on the shy side and it took her a good while to figure out the dog door on her own. She has become friends with the little 13 lbs Dachshund at her foster home and they wrestle hard together. Gracie hears and responds very well to correction when you tell her to slow down or to take it easy when playing rough. She had her first trip to the pet store the other day. She jumped beautifully into a crate in the car and enjoyed the ride to the store. When she arrived she walked right into the store and greeted everyone, took cookies, sniffed other dogs and left with another success under her belt. This little 30 pound girl does pull on the leash and dog training 101 would be a strong recommendation. Gracie had a rough start during these first 2 years of life. Now she deserves a Cattle Dog loving family that will give her long walks and a daily game of ball. Put a rug by your computer and a dog bed right beside you at night and she will stay with you forever. ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. CONTACT US AT 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.com
