Louis and Squintz's Story...

Hi there! My name is Squintz and this is my brother Louis. We are 5-year-old Russian Blue cats and we've lost our home. We must find a new place to live by February 1, 2014. We are brothers (same litter) who have never been apart and we think it'll break our hearts to be separated, so we're hoping to find a home together. We are declawed, litterbox trained and friendly with everyone. Please give us a chance to stay together and find a lifelong, loving home to call our own. Adoption fee: $60. Adopt a pair: $90. Fee includes testing, deworming, vaccinations and neuter.

Adoption and Foster Care Application

Adoption Process:
Complete the application at www.pawsforliferescue.org. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. If the meeting goes well and everyone is happy, you begin the mandatory, minimum two-week adjustment period with the pet as part of your family. You will pay the non-refundable adoption fee at the start of the two-week adjustment period. This pending period allows your new dog or cat time to adjust to their new home, new people, new routine, etc., and for you to decide if it's a match and the right pet for you. At the end of two weeks (some people extend the adjustment time as needed and that's fine too), if everyone is happy, then we finalize the adoption. Feel free to email if you have any questions.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Louis and Squintz, a Troy Russian Blue cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Russian Blue for sale in Troy, or seeking a Russian Blue cat from a breeder in Troy.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Troy already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Troy breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Russian Blue breeders who help with Russian Blue rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Troy paves the way for another one to be saved.
