My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

INITIAL BIO 01/06/2014: MEET LUCY! She is 9 years old and weighs 5 lbs, but would be a healthier weight if she gained a pound or two. Lucy is being fostered in New Port Richey, FL.

Lucy is an owner surrender who was no longer able to care for her, so she surrendered her to UYR. Lucy is deaf, but seems to deal with that just fine. She also walks a little funny and has a little cock to her head, which may be nothing but arthritis. So far, she has been shy in her new foster home with her fur-sister Callie, but is warming up to everyone slowly. Lucy appears to be house-trained and comes to her foster parents when she wants to go out. No accidents so far!

Lucy has begun to wag her tail and is getting along well with Callie, who is very particular about who shares her space, lol! Lucy doesn’t yet know how to use the stairs to the bed or couch, but Foster Mom feels sure Callie will teach her. Lucy is eating and drinking just fine. She will be visiting the vet on Thursday,so we will find out more about her hearing and her back & neck and see if she needs to be put on glucosamine for arthritis.
Lucy is cuddling up to the men in the home, lol! She has not barked once since she has been in her foster home (that is normal), nor has she snapped at anyone; she appears to be very sweet and quiet. Please check back often for updates on sweet Lucy.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to her hearing loss and small size, Lucy can only go into an adult home
