Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Blossom
(Our reporter sat down tonight to interview Miss Blossom, a beautiful cat currently in foster care. )
Q. Blossom, can you tell us how you found yourself in foster care?
A. Well, I must confess that I am a little confused about the details. I do know that I had a litter of sweet little kittens, but they are all grown now and living their own lives. One day I just found myself here at this house, and I enjoy every day I’m here.
Q. So you have no real memory of your life up to this point?
A. No, I really don’t. I must have been with some humans, though, because I really like people and enjoy being around them. I think people are wonderful!
Q. What do you like to do with your time?
A. Well, I’m going to toot my own horn here! I am the best lap cat in Huntsville, seriously. My foster parents have a fair amount of experience taking in cats, and even they have remarked how easily I adjusted to their home and their lifestyle.I have my own little guest room where I can retreat if I get overwhelmed, which I really appreciated the first week or two. But now I stay out with the people as much as I can.
Q. So is it just you and the humans?
A. Oh no. There are five other cats here, and I’m slowly getting to know them. Some are a little standoffish –they just don’t want to be bothered, so I don’t bother them. A couple of them are beginning to warm up to me and we’ve touched noses without hissing. It just takes time. But there are also three dogs. Now I have to say, I’m not a dog lover, but I’m not a hater either. I allow them to come close and sniff me – that’s what dogs do – but if they get a little too close or noisy, I just whop them once or twice on the nose and we’re done. No hard feelings either way.The other day some little girls came to the house, and I really enjoyed sitting with them and letting them pet me.
Q. So how’s your health?
A. I am in perfect health, thanks! I recently saw the doc for all my vaccinations and a checkup, and got a clean bill of health. I like to eat wet and dry food, so I’m easy to please. I just LOVE those “Temptations” treats!
Q. Anything else you can tell us?
A. Well, I realize that even though I’m very content here, it’s just a temporary home for me. I am really eager to find my forever home and get settled in. I think I would do well just about anywhere – I like people, I get along with children, cats and dogs. But my favorite place to be would be a home where someone will really enjoy my company and let me be close to them a lot. I like sitting in a lap or close by, and I like to be where I can watch the action in the kitchen. I’m very calm and peaceful and I think I’d be happy just about anywhere that’s not too crazy.
