Roxy's Story...
Hi there! My name is Roxy. My foster mom named me Roxy because I have so much moxie! When she came into the kitten room at the shelter, I immediately climbed onto her lap, curled up, and wouldn't move. I wanted to make sure she took me home with her!
I am a gorgeous tortoiseshell kitten, with silky soft medium fur, big tufts of fur coming from my cute little ears, and a huge plume for a tail! I am very playful and energetic and I love playing with my foster mom's other cats.

I have never met a stranger -- I immediately make friends with everyone!

My foster mom is super nice, but I really would like a forever home of my very own, with people who will give me lots of love. Is that you? Will you be my forever family? If you think you may be, please contact Friends of Rescue and ask for Roxy, that's me! Please complete an application at (click on resources) and to learn more, please email

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Roxy, a Marietta Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
