Joseph's Story...
This is sweet Joseph!! He is up for adoption with us and he is such a gentle boy. He is a 1-2 year old hound mix and loves other dogs and doesn't seem to have interest in cats. He isn't too high energy and loves be with you. I don't think I have ever heard him bark since he was rescued from Pender County Animal Control a few weeks ago. He is really a great boy and would do great with kids. He seems kinda shy at first but will warm up quickly. He gets so happy to see you that his ears go back and he wags his tail and stomps his front feet. I don't think I can find one thing about this dog that would need fixed. I would adopt him in a heartbeat if I could. I love hounds and he is a perfect role model to show people that not all hounds bark all the time at everything. He would enjoy a yard but probably wouldn't require one just walks few times a day. Please consider this wonderful boy to become a new part of your family!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Joseph, a Wilmington Hound (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in Wilmington, or seeking a Hound (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Wilmington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wilmington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wilmington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wilmington paves the way for another one to be saved.
