Cleo's Story...
Cleo wanted in the house. He was wet and cold. The dog that lived there would not let him inside the yard. Cleo hung around the fence just outside of the big dog's reach for 3 days before the man would feed him. WE picked up Cleo as quick as we got the call. The man complained this stray dog was hanging around and making his dog bark!!! Cleo is now a happy boy!! He is in a foster home with inside/outside times, other dogs to play with, regular meals (very important to Cleo), people to follow around, a warm crate to sleep in at night and a cat to maul and lay his long body across. Now Cleo needs a permanent home and a family to call his own.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cleo, a Melbourne Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Melbourne, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Melbourne.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Melbourne already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Melbourne breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Melbourne paves the way for another one to be saved.
