My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Fritz! We saved him from a rural southern high kill shelter. He had been dumped by his owners just before Christmas, probably because they couldn't be inconvenienced by their dog over the holidays. The shelter he was dumped at is overflowing with dogs in a very rural part of the state, and they euthanize for space. Owner surrenders are killed first because no one is coming to claim them. Little Fritz was saved in his last hours of life because diligent people networked him and his photos reached us in time. We could not let this little fellow die on New Year's Eve and not see 2014!

Fritz is an approximately one year old male Cairn Terrier mix. We do not know what he is mixed with. What we do know is he is full grown at 14.8 lbs. He does not appear to shed at this time (though in warmer months he may). Fritz has been neutered, microchipped, dewormed, deflea-ed and tested for heartworm, which thankfully he does not have. He is on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. He caught a little cold (called Kennel Cough) and is now on antibiotics and doing much better!

Fritz gets along well with other dogs and is housebroken. He is a cuddly little guy who LOVES to play! He is outgoing and friendly and will make a wonderful pet for some special person or family.
