Tess's Story...
Tess is a 6 year old Bloodhound that was relinquished by her owner because he got transferred for his job and couldn't take her. She is spayed, vaccinated, and housetrained. She has been a family pet and does good around other dogs except when she's eating, she should be fed alone. She knows basic obedience but prefers to respond only when she wants to. She doesn't like loud noises or abrupt arm movements. She doesn't try to escape the yard but she will follow her nose so on walks she should be on a leash. She does need daily activity to keep her happy and something to chew on. We aren't sure how she is with small children but she has a tendency to jump up so she could knock down small children. She has been calm at the shelter.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tess, a Craig Bloodhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bloodhound for sale in Craig, or seeking a Bloodhound dog from a breeder in Craig.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Craig already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Craig breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bloodhound breeders who help with Bloodhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Craig paves the way for another one to be saved.
