My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Small, cute and ready for his forever home!

Meet Runt “Randy”, a small, 3 year old going on puppy, 18 pound, tri-colored Beagle boy who has finished his heartworm treatment and is ready to move onto the next step of his life, a forever home.

Because Randy is independent and somewhat guarded, I feel he may have been used for stud service and mishandled. BUT, I feel with continued hands-on loving and cuddling as I have done with him, he will adjust. He’s so easy to pick up and love because of his size and sometimes I’ll come up behind him and scoop him up into my arms and hug him.

Randy is adorable, good and acts more like a puppy, playing all the time with his favorite toys. He is crate trained, and house trained, and in the three months that I’ve had him, has never had an accident in my house. Randy also likes most dogs and is learning to like cats, however, he has not been kid tested. Because he does bark, Randy would not be a good candidate for an apartment or condo.

Randy’s forever home wishes include:

A single, empty nesters or family with no tiny tots, teenage kids ok.
Randy is good on a leash, so a fenced yard is not absolutely necessary.
He’s fine with most dogs. A meet and greet is recommended, especially for other male dogs. No issues with female dogs.
A medium crate (he sleeps in one at night and when I’m away from the house).
If you are looking for a cute and cuddly dog that has a lot of love to give, you need to meet Randy. He’s great in the car and walks well on a leash. He is so adorable, he’s going to be hard to give up, but I know there is a perfect forever home waiting for him.

If you would like to meet Randy, we generally attend the Petsmart Adoption Event in Rockford, Illinois, and sometimes attend Gurnee, IL and Downers Grove, IL adoption events. Check his webpage to see which event he will be attending.
