My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Calling Mixed Breed Lovers, We’ve got a real sweetheart for you!

Meet Sissy, a 5 year old, female, Beagle mix who hasfinished her heartworm treatment, and is ready to move on to the next step of her new life, her forever home.

When Sissy came to me three months ago, she was very scared and timid, would not allow me near her, I knew she had been abused. But as the weeks went by, she got her courage up, and has come out of her shell. Sissy still has a little fear, but is turning out to be a darling dog with lots of personality. In fact, we call her “speaker of the house” because she’s very vocal, loves to talk and sing. For that reason, she would not be good for an apartment or condo.

Sissy is good with dogs and cats. She is housetrained and crate trained. She comes when I call her and goes in her crate when told to, and sometimes all by herself, although Sissy does not need to be crated, as she is such a good girl. Sissy has never had an accident in my house.

Sissy’s forever home wishes include:

A single person, or empty nesters or a family with teenage kids.

Another dog because she is still a “dog in learning”, and what I mean by this, she has started to try and initiate play with the other dogs, but not quite sure how to go about it, so she would definitely need another dog to continue teaching her the ropes.

Medium crate. She does not need to be crated, but having one available to her is important.

She’s good on a leash and was just introduced to a harness, so a fenced yard isn’t absolutely necessary. She doesn’t stay outside long, usually goes out, does her duty and comes right back in. She loves to hang with her humans.

If you are looking for a sweet, Beagle mix who has so much love to give, please check Sissy out. I guarantee you will not be disappointed with her. She’s a darling dog who deserves her chance at a home with lots of love and happiness.

We generally attend the Petsmart Adoption Event in Rockford, Illinois on the third Sunday of each month, but check her webpage to see what adoption event Sissy will be attending. On occasion we go to Gurnee, IL and Downers Grove, IL.

Sissy will be watching for you!
