My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bradford is another handsome boy and he can be quite the charmer. He is very happy as you can see to have been rescued from a kill shelter and is very much looking forward to meeting a family that would enjoy his fun-loving and friendly nature. Bradford is approximately 2 years old and currently weighs 55 lbs.

We don't have much background on Bradford as he came to the shelter as a stray but it was evident from the moment we saw him, with his big puppy dog eyes and friendly, affectionate nature, that he would make a wonderful family pet.

Whatever Bradford lacks in obedience training at this point he makes up for with an affectionate, playful personality and a strong willingness to please. He loves everyone and is always happy and interested in whatever people are doing. He gets along great with other dogs of all sizes and would do well with another friendly dog in the home. We don't know how he would be with cats as he is currently being fostered in a home without cats but he doesn't appear to have a prey drive.

Bradford is currently being fostered in Hamilton.

Here is what his foster parent had to say:

Bradford is a very affectionate young dog with lots of love to give. He has a typical fun-loving Boxer personality but a little toned down by whatever else is in his breeding. He is an active dog with energy to spare. He would make a great jogging partner and would do well in a home with another dog to play with.

He has a lot of fun going for walks and meeting new people. He loves everyone and is so happy he would like to give everyone a big kiss when he meets them. At home he loves to cuddle and will climb up to be beside you on the couch. He is a very curious fellow and with many new things going on, he is interested in whatever you are doing.

Living in a home is all new to Bradford and he is still figuring out some of the rules. He does come when called (unless he is having too much fun outside but he can't resist when you call him with a little sweet talk). He will sit when asked but his fidgety tail is always wagging. He does try very hard to do whatever you ask of him but at times he is a bit too excited. He needs someone that is consistent and willing to have a bit of patience with him but he is very eager and learning quickly. He gets scared when you raise your voice at him and really there is no need as he is always trying to do his best. He is fully house trained.

Bradford is having his first opportunity to play with toys and he is loving things like his Kong, and ropes but so far he isn't great at distinguishing them from your shoes so you may need to keep them out of reach until he is fully aware of what he can and can not play with.

When it's bed time Bradford loves to cuddle up on anything soft. He will roll around like a goof until he is nice and comfy. He seems to feel safest at night in his crate, as long as there is something soft to snuggle up with. He doesn't make a sound in his crate and like a good boy he goes straight to sleep when the lights go out.

I feel that Bradford is ready to meet a family that has plenty of time to play with him and who will enjoy his company. He is a very good boy.

If you think Bradford would be a good choice for your family, please submit an application for consideration.
