My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DJ is a ‘chiweenie’ — a Chihuahua and Dachshund mix with a gorgeous, soft brown coat and a piglet’s curlicue tail who we think of as our resident jokester. You can tell when you look at him that he’s up for a good time, and it’s why we love him. Born 9/16/2009, DJ shows no signs of slowing down. He's playful and gets along with all his fellow canines.

DJ’s low-maintenance vibe stands out as soon as you get to know him. Healthy and happy, he’s really just a big dog in a little dog’s body. He might bark at strangers from time to time, but he’s charming, too. Don’t expect him to lay around all day — DJ is a busybody at heart. He’d do well in the city or the country and gets along best in the warmer months, as he was born in the South. He likes to be bundled up come winter, and looks dashing in his coat and boots.
