Dakota's Story...
THIS IS A COURTESY LISTING. ADR is not responsible for the health, temperament, behavior or placement of this dog. Listings are done at the request of the dog's owner and as an outreach and community service in hopes of finding these dogs a loving, stable forever home. Placement decisions are made solely at the discretion of the owner and not Austin Dog Rescue. Owners are required to ask for an adoption fee from adopters.

Dakota is currently being fostered at Perfect Pet Solutions in Bastrop. This is the information we received from the person who contacted us:

Meet Dakota, a 1 year old Chocolate Lab mix. She is spayed, heart worm negative, and current on all vaccines. This sweet baby was neglected in her previous home; only given food and water while living on a 10 x 10 fenced patio. She has shown excellent progress with just a little training and attention (house broken, dog door usage, and how to play with toys). She is obviously very smart and loves to cuddle and play. Dakota is currently at Perfect Pet Solutions in Bastrop for continued social training, and is ready for a foster or forever home.

If you are interested in meeting Dakota, please contact Cydnee White at: cydnluke@flash.net.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dakota, a Austin Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Austin, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Austin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Austin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Austin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Austin paves the way for another one to be saved.
