My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DAISY is an 8 year old spayed chocolate female who weighs 63 pounds (should gain a couple). Daisy is a sweet-natured girl that gets along well with other dogs. She previously lived with other large dogs and did fine. Daisy has not had any formal training but does know basic commands and sits nicely next to you to get attention. Daisy has previously lived with cats and she is good with them. Daisy lived with children her entire life so she's approved for kids aged 2 and up. Daisy is blind. She will have a consultation with one of Lab Rescue's eye doctors to determine if she's a candidate for cataract surgery.

Update (3/25): : Daisy is so incredibly loving and gentle. She likes nothing better than to be your companion. She can often be found trolling for someone to sit on the sofa so she can climb up into your lap for a nap. Her bright orange fur from living outside is almost completely replaced by beautiful dark chocolate. She has gained weight and now finally realizes she doesn't need to gulp down her food. She sits very nicely for treats and has learned to take them gently. Daisy is such a pleasure to foster.

Update (2/25): After several consultations with specialists, it was determined that Daisy is not a good candidate for cataract surgery. She will need daily eye drops for the rest of her life and she'll need to have her eye pressure checked every six months. She will always be blind, but she doesn't seem to know it the way she moves around new environments. She's a very sweet girl with a great disposition and anyone who adopts her will be getting a true gem.

Update (1/19): Daisy is doing great! She is just the most loving, cuddly girl. She has super thick, soft fur that reminds her foster of a teddy bear. Daisy is definitely adjusting to being an inside dog very quickly - she barks at her foster as soon as she is done with her business and wants to go back in the warm house. She is very friendly to every person and every dog she meets. She has been the perfect house guest. And she she likes cats.

Update (1/13): Daisy is settling in very well. It is amazing to watch her memorize the house. She knows her way to the water bowl now and knows where she is going to go potty. Daisy is just an incredibly friendly, loving girl. She has spent the afternoon lounging by her foster's son on the couch. She is also getting along very well with the resident dogs. You would never know she is 8 years old, she is quite spunky and happy.
