My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Breed: Border Collie/Black Labrador Retriever
Age: 1 year
Weight: 52 pounds
Good with dogs: Yes
Good with cats: Yes
Good with kids: Yes
Energy Level: Medium-Low

Meet Storm - he is a sweet boy who likes to follow humans around. He will nudge you for attention and will make a great snuggler. He gives you puppy dog eyes and just wants some love. He will give it back two fold. He is a bit shy but will engage some dogs to play. He will stare longingly outside his kennel to the humans. Storm likes to roll in the grass. He will sit/lay down on command sometimes. He is food motivated so teaching him new tricks should be easier with a treat reward. Storm will make a great family pet. He likes kids, other dogs and even cats. He was given up by his owner when they couldn't find him a home. They had an "accidental" litter of puppies from their Border Collie and Lab. There were children in the home and Storm is said to be absolutely terrific with them. He would also make a senior a great companion. Does Storm sound like he could be part of your family? He would love a forever home where he knows he is loved!

Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:

Thorough veterinary examination

All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kkennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming

Spay/Neuter

All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.

If any dog shows any signs of disease or ailment, DDR vets the dog until he or she has a clean bill of health to the best of our knowledge. This includes anything from being treated for Heartworm, Broken Leg, Cherry Eye, Torn ACL, Upper Respiratory etc.)

NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 4 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
